Frequently asked Questions

Are there going to have passes?
In time, Yes.  At first, names will be added to a list and will be checked off as you enter and exit the bus.  Sending your information in before hand gives you a guaranteed spot on the bus.  If you just show up, you may have a seat or you may have to wait for the next bus. (Foothills will do their best not to leave anyone stranded, but showing up announced will certainly be inconvenient)

Is a daily rate available?
Yes, we can do daily passes with a 24 hour notice to insure we have a seat available.

Will there be more pick up locations in Winchester?
Currently there is only one at the Winchester Wal-Mart.  As the service grows the pick up locations may grow also.  (If there is a need to have other pick-up locations, please send an email stating where a good location may be.  With more inquiries, the chance of that pick-up location being added increases.)

Will there be more drop off points?
In the infancy of the service the six original locations are going to be used.  As more people respond and the need for another stop increases, more stops will be added.  (If is hard to justify a new stop for one person, but if a group of people need a different stop the chances of the stop being added increases)

What happens if I miss the bus?
The bus must keep the schedule to get everyone else to work on time.  It is your responsibility to be at the stop on time.  (If you have no other transportation, you can contact Foothills and see if another bus is available.)

What happens if I need to go home sick?
Call Foothills and arrangements can be made to pick you up.

What if I need to go to a doctors appointment?
Foothills has transportation rights in many of the counties surrounding Fayette, but not Fayette itself.  If your trip originates in one of the surrounding counties, call a day ahead and transportation can be provided for a fee.  If you are in Lexington and need to get around, Lextran must be used) (Lextran is a separate service from Foothills).

If I need to bring something to or from work that is large, can I still use the bus?
Use good judgment on this, If the bus is generally full, the item you are bringing will not be allowed.  If it takes up more than one seat, it most likely will not be allowed.  If you are unsure, call and ask.

Can I bring my bike?
The buses are not fitted with bike racks.  If there is a need for this it can be addressed by contacting Foothills Express.
