Safe Haven Program

Eligible persons are homeless who live on the street, in an emergency shelter, in places not meant for human habitation, being evicted within a week, being discharged within a week from an institution in which the person has been a resident for more than 30 days, or fleeing a domestic violence situation.

* Provides case management, transportation, medical assistance, budget/credit classes, food assistance, heating/cooling assistance, utility assistance, educational assistance, GED preparation, IDA Program participation and referrals.

Serves Clark, Estill, Madison and Powell Counties.

KRFDC currently has three full-time Case Managers and one part-time Case Manager. Each Case Manager is assigned clients based on geographic location to their home and current caseload and typically has 15-20 clients at a time. In addition to their current caseload, Case Managers have ongoing contact with persons seeking housing and other forms of assistance.
