Early Head Start

EHSEarly Head Start helps economically disadvantaged children from birth to 3 years old develop their educational and social skills. Teachers involve family members in the instruction and other center-based activities to help foster a lifetime of commitment to quality education. Through this early socialization and educational experience, children who attend Early Head Start are more likely to overcome learning disabilities often exacerbated by the effects of hunger, poverty, or environment. Through Early Head Start's comprehensive parent involvement program, parents participate in the decision-making, volunteer in the classroom and develop parent-sponsored activities and training.
