Safe Haven

Kentucky Housing Corporation’s Safe Haven Program

Eligible persons are homeless who live on the street, in an emergency shelter, in places not meant for human habitation, being evicted within a week, being discharged within a week from an institution in which the person has been a resident for more than 30 days, or fleeing a domestic violence situation.

* Provides case management, transportation, medical assistance, budget/credit classes, food assistance, heating/cooling assistance, utility assistance, educational assistance, GED preparation, IDA Program participation and referrals.

Serves Clark, Estill, Madison and Powell Counties.

Foothills currently has three full-time Case Managers and one part-time Case Manager. Each Case Manager is assigned clients based on geographic location to their home and current caseload and typically has 15-20 clients at a time. In addition to their current caseload, Case Managers have ongoing contact with persons seeking housing and other forms of assistance.
